In October 2023, our team transformed three Wellington train stations with the installation of 1,366.8 lineal meters of yellow polyurethane tactile studs. Led by operational planner Dave Chambers, the project prioritized safety and accessibility for the visually impaired, meeting strict deadlines and showcasing the crew’s dedication to precision.
Paekākāriki Station: The first transformation, completed in just five days, included 474 lineal meters of THIFS25YEL tactile studs in a large box layout, ensuring clear navigation cues at nearly 100 meters installed daily.
Paraparaumu Station: This large-scale effort saw the team install 525.7 meters of tactile studs, arranged for comprehensive hazard warnings with an anti-slip cross-hatch design, enhancing safety for all travelers.
